There are many organisations, networks and resources that support tourism operators, and it can sometimes be difficult to know who does what.

 

This page provides a simple overview of key industry bodies and stakeholders, and how they support tourism across our region and Tasmania more broadly.

AUSTRALIAN TOURISM DATA WAREHOUSE (ATDW)

The Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) is the national digital platform for tourism content in Australia. It helps tourism businesses showcase their products online, powering listings across state, regional and commercial tourism websites.

BRAND TASMANIA

Brand Tasmania exists to inspire pride, confidence and ambition in Tasmania. It supports Tasmanian businesses, communities and individuals to express what makes the state distinctive and to quietly pursue the extraordinary.

BUSINESS EVENTS TASMANIA

Business Events Tasmania is the state’s specialist bureau for attracting conferences, incentives and corporate events. It promotes Tasmania as a business events destination and supports organisers to deliver successful events in the state.

BUSINESS TASMANIA

Business Tasmania is the Tasmanian Government’s central online hub for small business support. It provides tools, advice, programs and services to help business owners start, run and grow successful businesses across the state.

Digital Solutions helps Tasmanian businesses build confidence in the digital world. From websites and SEO to social media, cyber security and emerging technologies like AI, its expert network supports businesses to grow and adapt online.

EVENTS TASMANIA

Events Tasmania supports the growth of Tasmania’s events sector through funding and development opportunities. It works with event organisers to attract, grow and deliver events that drive visitation and benefit local communities.

HOSPITALITY TASMANIA

Hospitality Tasmania is the leading industry organisation representing hospitality businesses across the state. It provides advocacy, training, resources and support to help hospitality operators build strong, sustainable and successful businesses.

TASALERT

TasALERT is Tasmania’s primary source of emergency warnings and information. The platform provides clear, up-to-date advice and real-time mapping to help individuals and businesses prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies.

TASMANIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (TCCI)

The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) is a member-based organisation representing businesses across Tasmania. It provides advocacy, advice, training and networking to support a strong and competitive business community.

TASMANIAN HOSPITALITY & TOURISM ACADEMY (THTA)

The Tasmanian Hospitality & Tourism Academy delivers industry-led training designed by local experts. Its programs reflect Tasmanian needs and trends, helping people build practical skills and rewarding careers in tourism and hospitality.

TASMANIA PARKS AND WILDLIFE SERVICE (PWS)

The Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service manages and protects Tasmania’s natural and cultural heritage and it balances conservation with sustainable use across nearly half of the state’s land and water.

TOURISM INDUSTRY COUNCIL TASMANIA (TICT)

The Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania (TICT) is the peak industry body representing Tasmania’s tourism operators. It advocates for the sector, supports sustainable growth and works closely with industry and government to strengthen tourism across the state.

TOURISM TASMANIA

Tourism Tasmania is the Tasmanian Government agency responsible for promoting the state as a leading travel destination. Through marketing, partnerships and industry support, it works to grow visitation and strengthen Tasmania’s visitor economy.
